Auxerre Pres says "Unlikely" Sanogo returns

Auxerre president Guy Cotret has said today that it's very unlikely that Yaya Sanogo will return to Auxerre on loan next season. Cotret said "Once the deal is completed, Sanogo will only return on loan if he's not ready for his new club"

Arsenal are said to be tracking 16-year old starlet David Henen. Reports from "Calciomercato" say that both Arsenal and Manchester United have shown interest and dub the player "The New Cristiano Ronaldo" - No pressure then.

Coventry sign 3 including Conor Henderson on 3-month loan

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has strengthed his side by bringing in Arsenal midfielder Conor Henderson on a 3-month loan, Robins said of Henderson "In Conor we have a very clever, intelligent midfield player with a wand of a left foot in the mould of players like Michael Carrick and Chris Brunt who's desperate to play and hungry for it".

Mertesacker hails "Maturing" Gunners


Speaking after eeking out a 2-1 win at French Champions Montpellier, German defender Per Mertesacker has hailed the Gunners maturity in such a situation, "We have matured and are getting better and better this season" and on Sunday's crunch match with Champions Man City said "We lost a very close match last season., I feel we are in better shape and better prepared"



Santos Charged With Dangerous Driving


Sky News' crime reporter Martin Brunt has reported that Arsenal defender Andre Santos has been charged with Dangerous Driving. Santos is alleged to have been "weaving in-and-out" of traffic, reaching speeds of 130mph in his Maserati. Santos is due to appear in court later this month and could face a maximum of 2 years in prison if found guilty.

Roma Scouting Mission is news to Djourou & Me & His Rep.


CalcioMercato in Italy have spoken to Johan Djourou's representative in Italy about the news that Roma had sent scouts to watch Djourou and Valentin Stocker during the international period. Flavio Ferraria says "I know nothing about this news and there has never been an approach from Roma, the time is right for him at Arsenal and nothing is going on with anyone else, but never say never in Football"

L'Equipe - Diaby to miss Southampton game with knee injury


Too good to be true isn't it? French paper L'Equipe are reporting this morning that Abou Diaby will be out of action and resting for around 6 days due to "swelling above the knee" sustained on international duty. If accurate, Diaby will miss Southampton's visit on Saturday but should return for Arsenal's first group match against Montpellier next week.

Mitrofanov: Zenit and Arsenal agree deal for Arshavin under two condition, second one obviously not met


Zenit General Director Maxim Mitrofanov has told RIA Novosti that Arsenal and Zenit had agreed a deal for Arshavin to leave The Emirates on a free transfer. Mitrofanov said "We'd been talking about that with Arsenal for a long time. It was one of two absolute conditions for us" Chillingly followed by "Only Arshavin himself knows the second condition." Now I'm no rocket scientist but considering the window shut 11 mins ago, that condition wasn't met.

Arsene Wenger has been speaking at a forum for coaches at UEFA headquarters where he has been comparing the differences between the European Championships and the World Cup. "There is more mental Pressure on teams in the World Cup and they play more not to lose, than to win"

Giroud to miss Finland Game


L'Equipe are reporting that Olivier Giroud will not play for France in their opening WCQ against Finland on Friday due to the muscle pains which have been stopping him from training. Giroud is expected back on Saturday and might take some part in the game against Belarus on Tuesday.

Kouyate confirms Arsenal contact


Ok, I'll level with you - This one is sourced from "Tribal Football" so veracity is a bit dodgy but Anderlecht midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté has confirmed that Arsene Wenger had been in contact over a move to the North London move but Anderlecht's qualification for the Champions League ended all chance of that happening

Giroud misses France Training



RMC Radio in France are reporting that Olivier Giroud and Maxime Gonalons have not been able to train for Les Bleus at all since joining up with the team with both complaining of "Muscle Pains" sustained from exertions at the weekend.
